This second issue of Future Earth highlights student scholarship examining the economic, ecological, and social dimensions of environmental change and sustainability. Published by Thompson Rivers University and hosted by BC ELN through Open Journal Systems, the issue brings together student perspectives that analyze pressing global challenges while exploring pathways toward resilience and climate action.
Featuring analytical commentaries grounded in environmental economics, natural resource management, climate policy, and social sustainability, this open-access issue showcases how emerging scholars are investigating the real-world impacts of global change and the economic and social pressures shaping communities in a changing world. By amplifying student research and insight, Future Earth continues its mission to support student voices as contributors to conversations shaping a more sustainable and equitable future.

At Thompson Rivers University, this is a free, open-access journal available in both online and print PDF formats. It reflects the intellectual curiosity and achievements of our undergraduate and graduate students and showcases their outstanding research, with a focus on sustainability. Recognizing the crucial role student research plays in generating new knowledge, the journal provides a platform for students to share their work with a broader audience.
We are committed to diversity, inclusion, and equity, and welcome contributions from students of all backgrounds and perspectives. Our distinguished editorial board is dedicated to guiding student authors and upholding the highest standards of academic excellence and integrity.

Thompson Rivers University (TRU) campuses are situated on the ancestral lands of the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc and the T’exelc within Secwepemcúl’ecw, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Secwépemc.
