About the Journal
Journal of Social Justice Education (JSJE) Vision
In a world where polarity is becoming the norm and divisiveness is running rampant, this journal hopes to create a space where marginalized communities and their allies can come together and reignite hope for humanity by thinking through and addressing social justice inequities. We must aim to create community across communities while acknowledging power, privilege, different needs and histories, to bring unity in upholding each other with support, alliance-building, and championing humanitarian perspectives with values of care, respect and love. This journal aims to foster dialogue across disciplines about how we can work collaboratively, creatively, and collectively to further support members from marginalized groups to have more equitable opportunities for all in education spaces.
JSJE Mission
We welcome racialized and marginalized social justice researchers and allies engaged in social justice education to come together and critically question normalized practices, systems, power, privilege, and behaviours.
We invite racialized and minoritized scholars, practitioners, and allies to contribute to a collective space that critically examines and challenges dominant norms, systemic inequities, and structures of power and privilege. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, community-centered approaches, and a wide range of methodologies—including creative works from diverse epistemologies such as Indigenous knowledge systems—we aim to influence policy at local, national, and global levels.
